Human Hair Wig Care is Not So Difficult, if You Follow Simple Rules

Posted on Posted in Tips and Tricks, Uncategorized

Before you commence cleaning, we would like to remind you that you should never use standard hair care products which are available in commercial stores. The structure of the fibre can be permanently damaged when these products are used and consequently the longevity can not be guaranteed. Clean your wig regularly, however, do not wash it too often. Depending upon daily use, our recommendation is wash your wigs once per week. Avoid friction and excessive heat, but you can use a hair dryer or straighter on medium heat.

Steps For Cleaning Human Hair Wigs:

PREPARATION: Place your wig on a polystyrene head and secure it with a couple of pins. Never pierce the needles through the lace front or mono filament top! We recommend that the hair is gently combed before washing (always start at the tips and work your way up to the hairline). Use a special metal wig comb (with rounded ends!) to comb through your wig. Do not use commercial brushes or sharp combs.

WASHING: Pre-wash the hair under the cold water letting the water flow in the same direction as the hair. Spread a dash of human hair shampoo on the palm of your hands and evenly work into the hair from base to tips. Soak for 10 – 15 minutes and then remove from the solution and rinse thoroughly.

CARE: Gently wipe off excess water and dab with a towel. For styling and daily care we recommend regular treatment with the care&repair spray. It smooths the hair structure and makes long hair easier to comb. Use a special metal wig comb (with rounded ends!) to comb through your wig. Place the wig on a suitable wig stand or allow to dry naturally on a towel. You can also use a hair dryer on medium heat.

Please take note: Never dry your wig by rubbing it in a hand-towel and do not comb or brush it whilst still wet or damp!

PROTECTION: To protect hair tips against split ends we offer an intensive treatment with Hair Tip Liquid. It repairs and regenerates tips and gives vitality and moisture. I hope you enjoyed human hair wig care technique.

  1. One of my friends got their first human hair wig and the care has thrown her off. She usually gets cheaper, synthetic ones so we wants to make sure that this one lasts. It’s good to know that you want to use cold water when cleaning it.
